When most think of music and dance, they think of how one just hears rhythm and just moves along to it. But no one realizes that when a dancer is moving with that rhythm they are connecting the emotion that they get from the music to it. This is why there are so many subgenres of dance, especially when dancers take movements and techniques from a genre and make their own spin on it.
Which leads me to talk about musicality, this is something that is very important for a dancer to have. Musicality is basically knowing the music and being able to interpret what the dancer hears to the best of their abilities through movement. Having is ability helps improve the excitement of choreography and accent the music that the choreography is being performed to.
